Sierra de Huétor is a mountain chain located at the North of Sierra Nevada, in the province of Granada. Though it is very unknown, not only by visitors but also by locals, this mountain range offers a lot of possibilities for the more demandant hiking lovers. Several caves to explore, such as “Cueva del Gato”, “Cueva del Agua” or “Cueva de los Mármoles”, each one with its own features. An intrincate net of trenches, used in times of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), that adds a historical topic to the trails. The river « Darro » water source, that makes chage the flora at the bottom of the ravines in contrast with the conifers forest reigning on the mountain slopes. All this, mixed with old postwar buildings and natural viewpoints with amazing views of Sierra Nevada and the closest villages, makes of Sierra de Huétor the perfect choice for a complete trekking adventure!
