This chain of mountains, located on the northwest of Andalusia, in the province of Huelva, is very wellknown by its chestnut trees and its iberian pork of Jabugo, that produces one of the more appreciated spanish delicacy. However, the Sierra de Aracena also harbors precious villages, sometimes unknown for most tourists, which seem to doze in the limbo of times. Places like Aracena and Cortegana, that keep their monumental castles ; Almonaster with its IX century mosque, or Alájar with its misterious “Peña de Arias Montano”, mark out this soft but spectacular mountain range. Most of paths elapse along picturesque rivers and bucolic countrysides, splashed out of the cattle of the adjacent farms. Hiking tours in Aracena is a mixure of all that Andalusia can offer to visitors.
