La Maroma is the highest summit in the province of Málaga, in Andalusia. Reaching its peak is one of the most challenging target for local trekking lovers and constitutes a real hiking adventure. This mountain can be climbed from several starting points, such as El Robledal, Alcauca or El Alcázar, at its Noth side, or several villages located at the South like Sedella, Canillas de Aceituno or Canillas de Albaida. The climb from El Robledal is ideal for late spring or soon autumn, as the shadow allows hikers to benefit pleasant temperatures as well as the shelter of the forest. On the Maroma’s summit we can even enjoy the presence of wild horses, that pasture there some times of the year. Wild goats, eagles or hawks can also be watched from the top of the mountain.
